4c2 - 12c + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the question here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4c2 - 12c + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is not a question.. that is an incomplete equation...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, thats what my paper says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.. than I'm going to assume that the complete equation is 4c2-12c+9=0 and the question is find c...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this can be solved by factoring but I can't explain this right here... the answer should be 5.81 or -5.81.. don't just copy though, look for solving quadratic equations on google because there are many ways to solve this question and if you can find one that you get completely you'll be able to solve things like this within a few minutes...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

it can be factorised to 4c^2 -12c + 9 = (2c - 3)^2 which is a perfect square

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

if you needed to solve it.... letting the expression = 0 then c = 3/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ campbell, i think you're right.. That seems to be the more likely question, I hadn't thought of that :)
