In the first, it's a difference in squares pattern. The middle terms cancel out, but the squared terms stay there with a negative dividing them. Then, the second one is a perfect square trinomial. You have the squared terms and then you get the middle term by multiplying the two terms within the binomial and then by multiplying that by 2.
