Multiply. (j + 7)(j – 7) j2 + 14j – 49 j2 – 14j – 49 j2 + 14j – 49 j2 – 49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is D am I right???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's difference of two squares (DOTS) so it is j^2 - 49. Yep, you're right :D To show this: j^2 - 7j + 7j - 49 the two 7j's cancel out and you're left with j^2 - 49

Yay I was right thanks! can you check this one Multiply. (2n + 2)(2n – 2) (1 point) 4n2 – 4 4n2 – 4n – 4 4n2 + 2n – 4 4n2 + 4n – 4

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

(a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2 ----> ever heard of this identity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is b but i am not sure the other one i was sure and had to make sure i was correct but not this one

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Nyet. Not B. Again, it's in "(a+b)(a-b)" form. here your 'a' would be '2n' and your 'b' would '2'. So whaddya think now?
