OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which do you find harder: algebra or geometry?

OpenStudy (precal):

neither algebra is fun and geometry is about shapes and stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel the same. I think that geometry was really fun, even though I don't really like math.

OpenStudy (precal):

geometry tends to appeal to people that like words (very verbal - definitions) and visual. Algebra attracts more number people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometry

OpenStudy (precal):

@rahrac why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would make sense, precal. I'm a visual learner, and I love talking ^.^

OpenStudy (rogue):

I'm not a linguistic person, so algebra appeals more to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I have a way with numbers, so that would explain why I find algebra easy as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same :) the math content required for both is about the same level, after that is depends on how much you like shapes

OpenStudy (precal):

when you get to calculus then the shape itself doesn't matter, that is why integrals were invented.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm going into calculus next year! So excited :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true - but basic geometry requires more memorization which can make it a little tedious if you don't get the concepts

OpenStudy (precal):

http://www.calculus-help.com/tutorials also, try www.khanacademy.com or it is .org

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. As long as you do your homework, it's a piece of cake.

OpenStudy (precal):

is it ap calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I'm doing Trigonometry/Calculus AB. I'm going into high school.

OpenStudy (precal):

in 9th grade? well you are one of the few to do that, good job :) you will like coming to this website (a lot of very smart and nice people here )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I stumbled on it yesterday. It's really fun helping people :) And I'm in a special program. This year (8th grade) I had to go to the high school along with like 12 other people to take Accl. Algebra II. Otherwise I would be taking Algebra II next year.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@precal because geometry requires alot of memorization and includes shapes, its just very difficult.

OpenStudy (precal):

well welcome to Open Study

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rahrac If you have a teacher that insists on homework every night, you'll probably memorize the concepts of geometry through repetition. But if you have optional homework, you could end up not paying attention at all and totally bombing the class.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! It's really great here. There aren't as many arguers here (oh gosh, YouTube) and everyone tries to help each other out.

OpenStudy (precal):

yes that is the policy, to be nice and to be helpful. we do argue but the debates are mathematical talk to you later

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k bye, nice convo

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

All-zebras vs Geo-may-tree. May the zebras win. -_-
