Why do some plants have nodules on their roots?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because nitrogen-fixing bacteria live inside them in a symbiotic relationship. basically, these nitrogen loving bacteria help the plant AND get benefits from the plant. a win-win situation; that is basically what symbiosis means. hope this helped. :)
