Total Area

I got to this \[l ^{2 } = 10 but not sure how to simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A=B+\frac{PL}{2}\] B is the base area, P is the base perimeter, and L is the slang height. You can get L by solving the triangle in your picture. Use the fact that the small leg is implied and solve for the hypotenuse (which is the slang height).

\[l ^{2} = 10\]
