Compare the practical uses and limitations of nuclear fission and fusion. Include in your answer a detailed description of the two processes, comparing and contrasting them in terms of the types of atoms involved, the conditions needed to get the reaction started, and the types of products produced.
I only know about nuclear fission. It is when a radioactive metal decomposes, releasing neutrons and energy. It can be used in bombs and for power plants. Unfortunately, the products are very radioactive and dangerous (ex: post-tsunami Japan) I know that fusion is the combination of elements, and is way more powerful than fission. It makes a really good nuke, but I don't believe that it is used in power plants yet.
Thank You for answering this for me :) Really helps me understand it better!
you're welcome.
Nuclear fusion has the added benefit of creating energy safely. No dangerous radioactive waste, like the nuclear fission reactors the world uses now.
