Find (a) the GCF and (b) the LCM of the following monomials. 1. 28,35, and 42 2. 9x^2 and 36xy^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For #1, I believe both the GCF and LCM are 7 (I could be wrong, because it's been a while since I've done those kinds of problems). The highest number that fits into 28, 35, and 42 is 7. But also, the lowest number that goes into the three is 7. Only 1, 5, 7, and 35 go into 35, and since "1" is a cop-out (and I'm assuming you aren't dealing with decimal numbers), 7 is the logical choice.

it is 7 for the gcf aand the second probably is 7 because thats how it looks like thanks :) for explaining

but lmc is the lowest common multiple
