What is the formula to find the apothem?

OpenStudy (callisto):

Perhaps this site can help you a little http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Apothem.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, i already know what's the apothem but in this site it doesn't show me how to get it. Thank you anyways.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Hmm.. perhaps you can ask a specific question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already did. What's the formula to get the apothem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THe apotherm is if you want a formula, sin (360/2n) = 1/2s/hyp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n is the number of sides and s is the length of a side.

@jim_thompson5910 Can you check the formula I created to find the apothem above? Just want to make sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin as in sine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guys i found it: Multiply (n-2)180/n and the result divided by 2.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Cut in half
