Java - boolean query. I wrote a small program to calculate leap year, was wondering why this doesn't work? If I adjust it to make the boolean expression defined before the 'if statement' and refer to it in/as the condition, it does work, but not here when I put the expression as the condition directly. Here is the code which doesn't work http://pastebin.com/uu8sCvrv

You're missing a parenthesis in your if statement: if ((year%4==0) && (year%100!=0)) || (year%400==0)) {
