Why is pepsi or coke fizzy? or Soft drinks rather and why do they go flat? For most gases their solubility in liquids is increased by an increase in temperature.

@beeqay, you've got it right except for the last part: the solubility of gases usually decreases with an increase in temp.

Yea that was a typo. I meant solubility of most gases usually increases with a decrease in temperature. With Noble gases being an exception

you can fit more liters of gas in a soft drink bottle if the gas is disolved in liquid
