Suzie’s flower shop estimates that supplies costs for one month will be given by the polynomial 3x^2 + 7x – 3. She estimates that utilities costs for one month is given by 5x + 2. Find and simplify an expression that would estimate Suzie’s total costs for one month. can you show me the steps to working this out? please...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Total costs = supplies + utilities...so.... total costs = (3x^2 +7x -3) + (5x + 2) add like terms....3x^2 + 12x -1

= 13x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already added the like terms...you got 3x^2 + 12x -1 <<that is your answer. The problem doesn't tell you what the x variable is, so you can't plug anything in for that.

oh i c ok thanks.

no problem
