How do I find the surface area? there is like, Two width's :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the surface are of this triangular prism is made up of four faces two of the faces are rectangles and the tother two are identical triangles , find the surface area of each face and add them together

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

area*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a= perimeter times hieght

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and perimeter = a+b+c and height is given 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I believe the height is 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in case of triangle 8 is the perpendicular but since it is a triangular prism the height is 13

OpenStudy (zepp):

For any prism, area of the bases * 2 + Lateral areas.

OpenStudy (zepp):

Area of the bases: These are triangles, h*b /2 = (8 * 15) /2 = 60 There's two; 60*2 = 120

OpenStudy (zepp):

Lateral: 13*17 + 13*15 + 8 *15 = 536 120+536=656

OpenStudy (phi):

there are 3 rectangular sides, and 2 triangle sides I assume you know how to find the area of a rectangle? their dimensions (from the picture) are: 13 x 17 13 x 15 8 x 13 the triangles are congruent with base and altitude of 15 and 8 together their area is 120. Now add up all the areas to get the total surface area.
