I want to solve it, just walk me through it:) Assume you are rolling two dice; the first one is red, and the second is green. Use a systematic listing to determine the number of ways you can roll a total less than 12 on the two dice. In how many ways can you roll less than 12?

Parth (parthkohli):

Parth (parthkohli):

^ see the table.

Parth (parthkohli):

All ways are valid, besides {6,6}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 35?

Parth (parthkohli):

There are 36 sample spaces.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

you want a total less than 12. Cool. So, how many ways can I get it? all except 6,6 i.e. when both dice have 6 on their face. so, one outcome is unfavorable out of 36 possible ones. whaddya think now?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yes 35!! right-o!
