Whats the lateral area formula for a rectangular prism (: ? If there is one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

L = Ph, where L is the lateral area, P is the perimeter of either base, and h is the height of the prism. A = L + 2B, where A is the total surface area, L is (again) the lateral area (you could substitute Ph), and B is the area of each base. (The formula adds 2B because there are two bases on a prism.)

I hope this helps.

What is the lateral area of a rectangular prism whose length is 9 cm, width is 5 cm, and height is 12 cm? This is the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12(2(9+5)) 12(2(14)) 12(28) 336 (I'm not exactly sure, but this is my best bet. However, the formula i am sure is L=Ph)
