what is the pattern that darwin observed among organisms of the Galapagos Islands

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Darwin noticed that these organisms (which were a species birds called finches) had very similar traits, but each family of finches looked a little bit different. Examples: the finches who ate nuts had hard, rounded beaks. Finches who ate insects had long skinny beaks, and those who ate seeds had beaks somewhere in between. This is what caused him to come up with the theory of evolution. I hope this helped you!!!! :)
