(2x^2 + 3x + 4) + (-2x^2 + x - 12)
You see, the goal of this is to create two trinomials in which the squared term cancels and so that the x term and constant equal what is given. Make sure that the coefficients of the squared terms are opposites so that they cancel out. Then for the x term, choose any two numbers that add to become 4 and the same for the constant.
