The graph of y = ax2 + bx + c is a parabola that opens up and has a vertex at (-2, 5). What is the solution set of the related equation 0 = ax2 + bx + c? Pleaseee.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the vertex is above the x axis and the parabola opens upwards, it will never cross the x-axis... therefore the solution to the related equation, \(\large 0=x^2+bx+c \) , has no real solutions.
