A wise man once said "The only thing I know for sure is that I don't know anything for sure" :) "Free" travel doesn't seem to be possible via the laws of physics as they're currently understood, but I've heard interesting arguments (that don't violate causality) that say that it may be eventually feasible to travel forward, but not back.
