2x=4 - 3/x+2 ???

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

multiply each term by (x+2) to get rid of the denominator in the fraction \[2x(x+2) = 4(x+2) - 3\] this can be simplified to \[2x^2 + 4x = 4x + 8 - 3\] rewrite the equation \[2x^2 = 5\] now solving for x divide by 2 \[x^2 = \frac{5}{2}\] take the square root of both sides \[x = \pm \sqrt{\frac{5}{2}}\]
