Okay, so I completed a quiz earlier this year but got an 83.33%. I wanted 100%, will someone tell me which ones I got wrong? I will start off with one question. 1. Which of the following describes what occurs when energy is transferred and work is being done on an object? A) The object stays where it was. B) The object moves. C) The object absorbs all the energy. D) The energy transfer does not affect work. (I chose B)
B) The object moves. is correct i suppose as dW=f.dr
Its D) since its not specied if the object was at rest initially. So the energy transfer doesn't affect work.
work was done 'on' it so its velocity must have changed...so it must have moved.without movement no work can be done on the body
Thank you, Quarkine! The answer was B, and I already corrected the answers I got wrong. :)
Energy can be transferred by two ways one by heat transfer and other by work.Heat can be transferred without the displacement of the object but the definition of work is W =\[W = \int\limits_{?}^{?}f.dr\]. So there must be a displacement.
