I finished reading the lord of the flies, and i also read the notes. I'm supposed to read it in 9th grade, but i want to know more . What is a protagonist, and and an antagonist? I know jack is one of them

A protagonist is the leading character in the novel.
In Lord of the Flies, the protagonist is Ralph because he is the main character.

An antagonist is the person(it could also be a force of nature or an inner struggle) that is hostile to the protagonist.
The antagonist is Jack and/or the beast.
