Using graphing technology, approximate the solutions of 0.72x2-0.18-6.3=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure you plugged in the values correctly? My calculator seems to match up with the answer given on wolframalpha.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

you need to plot the curve:\[y=0.72x2-0.18x-6.3\]and see where it crosses the x-axes. the points where it crosses the x-axes will be the solutions to the equation:\[0.72x2-0.18x-6.3=0\]

i got some answers and none were right

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

what answers did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x= 1.59 and x= -1.34

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

that would indicate that you haven't drawn the curve correctly. look at how wolfram has drawn it and compare it with your graph to see where you may have made a mistake: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=0.72x^2%E2%88%920.18x%E2%88%926.3
