Why can't group mods close a question instead of just deleting it?
*myininaya clicks the imaginary good question button*
hahaha good job ;p
because apparently some mods were abusing the close question button -_- jk..and fyi even global mods cant close questions
just ask the person who opened the question to close it because you think it isn't suitable or something :) they won't ignore you cause you look important with that lovely purple square around your name :)
Global mods can close questions FYI :)
really??? asna said :O he tricked me! o.O
sheesh these purple squares really do their jobs ;)
I want a purple square :( damn
minimum age requirement is at least 100 years old...*sigh* 38 more years for me :C
naw damn :) have ages to go then!!!
wow Mia haha and @lgba how does one abuse a close button?
I'm actually really curious about this :)
Well a mod could abuse it by closing others' questions that are perfectly good questions. I haven't heard of this happening... A user closing there own question can be an abuse of the close button if they are closing to avoid the bump and re-posting the same question.
oh well I only close questions if I want to post a new one or if I've found the answer :)
We didn't explicitly make the decision to exclude this ability from group mods. Group mods simply weren't in use when we implemented the feature so we didn't open it up to them. Although, I think this is something that may make sense so I'll bring it to the team.
Thanks!
