Well, this is complex stuff, only admins know how this works, but a couple of things:

Asking questions, helps you engagement, and teamwork can be raised by being more interactive with users while answering question.

(though only God knows what algorithm they follow for this -_-)
Don't need to know either I guess, just need to enjoy the work. ;)

1) guide the asker through the problem

2) explain every follw up question the person has

3) be cool (this will get you fans)

4) HELP a lot of people (also gets you fans)

5) HELP a lot of people apparently increases "People Helped" as well

6) Don't refuse to give medals TO PEOPLE WHO DESERVE IT

7) NEVER answer snipe (this shall make your ss boohoo)

8) NEVER give answers (also makes smartscore boohoo)

for engagement...

1) be interested in your question

2) ask any doubts you have in mind

3) dont be shy to ask the respondents (i call them respondents instead of answerers)

4) NEVER post homework questions for the sake of getting answers (makes ss boohoo)
