I have a Literacy song project due next week and I would like suggestions of what popular songs that I can do. It involve all 7 poetic devices and is school appropriate.

The Beatles rock. You can't go wrong there. If you want to go more contemporary, you could use "We Are Young." I love using this song in my class because the lyrics are so different than the melody implies. It's not as happy as people think.

There are several references to drugs, i.e. higher than the Empire state, but it isn't too bad. It would just depend on the teacher.

I'm not sure which seven poetic devices you are looking to use. There are a lot more poetic devices, but this song has a lot.
