could some one help me about active and passive voice???? im confusing
Whether a sentence is written in "active" or "passive" voice is determined by its subject -is he/she/it active or passive? In active voice, the subject is DOING THE ACTION , so we call the subject "active". In passive voice, the subject is BEING ACTED UPON by someone or something else, so we call the subject "passive". It can be helpful to remember one good example of active & passive voice in your head, such as: "The dog chewed the bone." ACTIVE voice > The subject, dog, is ACTIVELY eating the direct object, bone "The bone was chewed by the dog." PASSIVE voice > The subject, bone, is PASSIVELY being chewed by the dog ("dog" is the object of the preposition in the prepositional phrase, "by the dog") Hope this helps!! :)
thanks for your help dear
