DNA and RNA are both A made up of nucleotides and carry molecules from one end of a cell to another B. monomers of protein molecules that provide structure to a cell’s nuclear membrane C protein molecules that carry the unique genetic information of an organism D molecules that contain genetic information and are made up of nucleotides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D molecules that contain genetic information and are made up of nucleotides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DNA carries genetic information, mRNA codes for protein and is the complementary base sequence of DNA. so my guess would be D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C) option will be right but they said protein which makes the statement wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D DNA and RNA not protien and they are nucleic acid.So B & C can't come as a answer. And both dont carry molecules. So D will be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and DNA and mRNA consists of a base, phosphate group and a sugar, so they are both nucleotides, only in mRNA A = U (Adenine double bonds with Uracil) and in DNA (A = T) Adenine double bonds with thymine.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya..its correct.but I think it is no need to find the answer for this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, that's how I understand the question :P Because in my mind mRNA is a straight line lol...then I remember the A =T , C = G thing and relate it to nucleotides :P I know...the very long way...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey A has double bond with T right but G is having triple bond with C dats y prokaryotes is having high melting point becoz they are GC rich

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya the point is correct...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya that's correct :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heena. can u explain that why prokaryotes have melting?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah :D I haven't heard of double bonding and triple bonding affecting prokaryotes though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well in eukaryotes AT content is more than the GC content and u knw double bond is more easily breakable as compare to triple bond while in prokaryotes GC content is more than the AT content that's y prokaryotes have high melting point as compare to eukaryotes..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! that makes sense, lol! Thanks!
