Prove, in complete sentences, whether the left expression is equal to the right expression and discuss which property applies. 6(x − 2) 6x − 12

OpenStudy (btaylor):

This is an example of the distributive property. On the equation on the left, multiplying both terms (x and -2) by 6 gives you 6x-12. Conversely, if you were to take out a GCF of 6 from the equation on the right, you would get 6(x-2). So This uses distribution and factoring.
