If the concentration of a sugar solution is lower outside the cell than inside the cell which will happen by osmosis? A. Sugar will move into the cell. B. Sugar will move out of the cell. C. Water will move into the cell. D. Water will move out of the cell.

[Answer: B] Because there is a higher concentration of sugar inside the cell, equilibrium wants to be achieved. To balance the concentration of sugar both inside and outside the cell, water rushes into the cell. Note that the sugar can't move in and out of the cell cause it can't easily pass through the cell membrane.
