I recently started the course and while it started out easily enough, it seems to have accelerated out of my grasp by lecture 4. How many are we supposed to watch per week? I've been trying to do 2 per day. If I'm not supposed to do 2 per day, then what am I supposed to do in the meantime? If I take a day off I just end up forgetting everything. The first exercise was easy enough but this is getting difficult quickly. It seems that after lecture 2, he began making references to concepts and Python commands that were never discussed before and it's assumed that we're already acquainted with them.
It's ok, don't worry. It now seems all difficult but actually it is not. I think with 2 video lectures per day you are fine, and try other resources that help you out! For example, take a look at this: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Non-Programmer%27s_Tutorial_for_Python_3 It uses python 3.X but it doesn't matter, just graps the ideas! If there's something I can do for help just feel free to ask ! good day!
marshallj: I don't follow the 2 video per week regime. In my opinion, the students actually taking the course have the benefit of having tutorials and TAs to help out. There are weeks when I can't do any although I do try for 1 video complete with assignment per week. With respect to assignments, there are occasions when it makes sense to video the footage after the assignment. The tutors sometimes fall behind schedule. I had commented on this here. Hope this helps.
Much have been said, if any lesson seems difficult you can paste that part here and we do it together, also i will recommend that you get "Python programming, an introduction to computer science" it explains in a very understandable way while giving you questions to test your grade. I have this book in pdf format, if you do not have i could send you a copy. In the main time, do the tutorial at your won time and not necessarily two in a week, for me sometimes i do one, two, three or four but i read the books recommended alot and it helps. Hope this helps
