Find the height of the pole if the shadow of a boy 6 ft. tall is 3 ft. and the shadow of the pole is 2 1/3 yards.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 1/6 yards 4 2/3 feet 14 feet It is one of these i believe.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

can you convert 2 1/3 yards into feet first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its 7 Feet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i believe it would 14 feet?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

great! now use ratio and proportion 6 feet produces 3 feet shadow so x feet produces 7 feet shadow 6 : 3 = x : 7 got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its x = 2 : 7 so it would be 14 correct?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yup
