What are some ordered pair examples of function and relation?

Parth (parthkohli):

For example: \(f(x) = x + 1\) (1,2), (2,3) , (3,4)....etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as long as two or more ordered pairs dont have the same x-coordinates then it is a function i.e (1,5) and (2, 4) is a function because the x-coordinates are 1 and 2 which are NOT the same

Parth (parthkohli):

mr.awesome is correct.

a relation would be any set of ordered pairs like (1,2)(1,3),(4,5) etc..note that this is a relation BUT NOT a function because there are TWO ordered pairs with x coordinate 1

Parth (parthkohli):

You cannot have the same point and different coordinates :P
