what the main ingredient in chocolate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chocolate is made from the tropical Theobroma cacao tree. After fermentation, the bean will be dried and then roasted. The shell will then produce coco nibs. The nibs will then be grounded into coco mass (a pure chocolate that is in a rough form). When the coco mass is liquified, with or without ingredients, it will be known as chocolate liquor. This liquor will either be formed into two different components: cocoa solids and/or cocoa butter. Many of the chocolates that are consumed today are in a certain sweet form of chocolate, which is combined with cocoa solids and cocoa butter, or other fats and sugars. Milk chocolate is sweet chocolate that contains milk powder and condensed milk. White chocolate contains cocoa butter, sugar, milk and no cocoa solids. Cocoa solids will contain alkaloids, such as theobromine and phenethylamine, which is good for the body overall, and it even has physiological effects on the body. It has been linked that chocolate goes to the serotonin levels of the brain. Some researches have even found that chocolate can even lower blood pressure, when it is eaten in moderation. Hope that helps! n_n
