A wooden plate is shaped as a pentagon. The measure of one angle is 80°. The remaining interior angles are obtuse and of equal measure. What is the measure of each obtuse angle in the pentagon? 115° 160° 92° 135°

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

sum of all interior angles of a pentagon = 540 degrees. let the equal angles all measure 'x' degrees each. so, x + x+ x+ x+ 80 = 540 can you solve this?^

@apoorvk can you explain for me, im lost?? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk ?? please i need to know how to work it out.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Umm okay. Do you know that sum of al the interior angles of a pentagon measure 540 degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@angela210793 Now i do :). how do i get x?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

add up the 4 x's so, 4x + 80 = 540 this helps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 540-80 then that divided by 4?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yeah yeah!! and what would that equal to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

115 thats the answer?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):
