OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exert: Apply or bring to bear (a force, influence, or quality). Make a physical or mental effort. Attend: Be present at (an event, meeting, or function). Go regularly to: "all children are required to attend school". Rational: Based on or in accordance with reason or logic: "a rational explanation". Legitimate: Conforming to the law or to rules: "his claims to legitimate authority". If you ask me, the word "Rational" would be the right choice because the others either don't even sound appropriate when you put them in the sentence, and if you read the above definitions, it will tell you which one fits the best. Try looking up these words in the dictionary or search it on google next time.
