what are at least 3 things in your life that involve chemistry and why do you think they do
anything!!! and i mean anything! metals which make cars make you safer, minerals in food make you healthy, air you breathe keeps you alive....
thanks
Breathing involves the rapid bonding and deponding of O2 to the iron atoms at the center of your hemoglobin molecules. It's a delicate process, since the oxygen needs to rapidly bond when the amount available is a little higher, in the lungs, and rapidly debond when the amount available is a little lower, in the capillaries. A great deal of clever structure-bonding interaction is involved, with subtle shifts in shape by the hemoglobin molecule. Cooking generally involves the denaturation of proteins, the severing of the chemical bonds between long-chain polysaccharides (which make up connective tissue), and the partial combustion of sugars, which gives you browning. When you take medicine, some clever chemistry is involved that either blocks natural pathways in your body, e.g. if you take pain reliever, chemotherapy agents, blood pressure meds, et cetera. or which interferes with the pathways in bacterial biochemistry, if you are taking antibiotics.
cooking bread into toast is a chemical reaction, cooking an egg is a chemical digesting my breakfast is a chemical reaction
