please help! Explain, in complete sentences, how you would factor 27x4 – 90x2 + 75. Provide the factors

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

notice that 27, 90 and 75 are all divisible by 3 so we can write 3(9x^4 - 30x^2 + 25) now you can try to factor whats in parentheses

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

we must now look for 4 numbers which are factors of 9 and 25 which give us a product of 25 and when multiplied and added give us the middle number -30 to give factors of the form (ax^2 + b)(cx^2 + d)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(3x^2-5)(3x^2-5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

I do this by trial and error - yeah - thats right - why are you asking?!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i was just making sure o.O

OpenStudy (eyust707):

great job!

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

thats ok - thats as far as you can go 3x^ -5 won't factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you eyust & ohhh okay thanks & you're a little fiesty lolol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eyust you never answer my last question on the other problem

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yeah - good luck
