What is the range of the function y = 2ˣ - 1 in interval notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you graph the function, you see it has a horizontal asymptote at \(y=-1\) for small \(x\) and shoots up to infinity for large \(x\). The range is the set of all possible \(y\) values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Domain = All Real #'s Range = (-1, ∞) Would you like an explanation as to why or is that good? :-)

Oh ok, no no that's perfect! Thank you!
