If the perimeter of a figure is doubled, then the dimensions were....?

thikn about it in terms of a square. say we have a square with side length x.|dw:1339623519858:dw| then the perimeter is 4x for the perimeter to be double that, or 8x, we need to find the dimensions. the perimeter of a square is 4s, where s is the side length, so we can say that 4s = 8x, or s=2x. basically, the length of a side doubled. so the dimensions doubled!
