HELP!!! FINALS TOMORROW! this is my study practice guide. 1. The polygons are similar, but not necessarily drawn to scale. Find the value of x 17.3my answer 10 120 160 2. State whether the triangles are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and the postulate or theorem you used. OMN ~ JKO; SAS OMN ~ OJK; SSS OMN ~ OJK; SAS The triangles are not similar. 3. Find the area. The figure is not drawn to scale. 114 in2my answer 57 in2 812 in2 957 in2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

1. 12/3 = 40/x => x = 10

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

makes sense Brokellreals ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes thank you! I ended up multiyplying the first time! Stupid mistake!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

haha.. happens a lot wid me always.. :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2. clearly, OMN ~ OJK and its SAS similarity 3. parallelogram area = bxh = 29 x 28 = 812 in2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much your a big help! What about finding the circumference could you help me with that?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

circumference of what..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the circumference. Leave your answer in terms of pi . 100pi in 30pi in 10pi in 20pi in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 20pi?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yup !! your have concepts... :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha can you help me with a couple more? Sorry I hope you dont think im using you. Cram session before finals tomorrowD:

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ya i understand how it is.. go ahead and post....

Find the length of arc XPY. Leave your answer in terms of PI . 900 pi m 15 pi m my answer 5 pi m 30 pi m Find the area of the circle. Leave your answer in terms of pi . 8.405 m2 16.81 m2My answer 11.2 m2 4.2025 m2 Dont remember how to do this, but when I tried I got 51.8 Find the area of the figure to the nearest tenth. 8.6 in.2 51.8 in.2 103.6 in.2 16.5 in.2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

1. ur answer is correct.. below explanation : length of arc XPY = 2.pi x 10 - 2.pi x 10/4 = 20. pi - 5. pi = 15 pi 2. area of circle = pi x r x r = pi x 2.05 x 2.05 = 4.2025 x pi m2 3. the region shown is part of circle right ? so to find the area, just calculate the area of circle and take a piece of it ok. below solution : area = pi x r x r x 165/360 = pi x 6 x 6 x 165/360 = pi x 36 x 165/360 = pi x 165/10 = 16.5 pi in2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for 3, whenever i get a question like that. Even if the circle is a little bigger, do I stick to that same formula but change the numbers?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yup you will get the answer.. . but when you have time just try and figure out how it works... (may be after d exam.. ;))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha defiantly I wanna be a dentist so I need to get this whole math thing down! Do you know how to do tangets? I think I got it figured out, but I dont wanna be stuck on doing it the way im doing it and have it turn out that I was doing it wrong. Its happened before, sophmore year!D:
