Given the polynomial function f(x) = x4 + 2x3 - 13x2 - 38x - 24 and the zero -3, find all other zeros. a) 3, 0, -1 b) 4, -1, -2 c) 3, -1, 1 d) 3, -4, -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor out the \(x+3\) and get a rather annoying cubic polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to do all that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait so is it B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

finding the zeros of a cubic polynomial is a drag, but i guess you are supposed to check the usual suspects, like 1 and -1 if fact this factors as \((x-4) (x+1) (x+2) (x+3)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is B
