use pythagoreans theorem thats says

If you have a right triangle, the hypotenuse squared = the other two sides squared

in this case your hypotenuse = 34

and your two other sides are 14 and x.

using pythagorean theorem

$$c^2=a^2+b^2$$ where c is your hypotenuse, and a and b are sides

once you find the missing side it's as simple as adding up the segments that the one driver drove and subtracting it from the other drivers route to get the difference
