The ratio of pasing to failing students in a certain class is 5:2. Which of the following could be the total number of students in the class? 1. 12 2. 15 3. 21 4. 30 5. 34

Let's say that the number of students passed is 5x and failed is 2x. Then the sum would be 5x + 2x = 7x, which means that we'll have a multiple of 7. Search for a multiple of 7 in the options :)
