first term of the geometricc sequence..... ,42, 126, 378, 1134

Parth (parthkohli):

Is there only one term before 42?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14

Parth (parthkohli):

If you look at it, you'll divide the common ratio to get the previous term.

Parth (parthkohli):

If you want the next term, you multiply the ratio, and if the previous, then divide.

Parth (parthkohli):

The common ratio would be \(126 \div 42 = 3\)

Parth (parthkohli):

So you divide: \(42 \div 3\)
