You sit down to eat in an authentic Vienna café. You order the local specialty, Sachertorte, and some coffee. When your food is served, you request sugar, cream, and a spoon. Then you call for the check and leave the proper tip. Write this conversation in German.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is what I would say. im just giving you a guideline. can you figure out what I have said so far? Hallo, ich möchte eine Sahne, Zucker und einem Löffel Bitte!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I know what you said. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok now we need to carry on the conversation. what do you think the waiter would say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um..he would say something like "Yes, right away. Is there anything else you need?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course! and then you would reply "Yes! Could you give me the check now as well?" and the waiter would say "coming right up" any ideas how to say this in german?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I kind of know how to write it, but I suck at the grammar part. So the waiter would say "Ja, sofort. Gibt es so etwas sonst noch brauchen?' Then the customer would say ,"Ja. Könnten Sie mir den Scheck jetzt auch?" Then the waiter would say "Kommt sofort." Then the customer would say,"Danke." How's that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Technically the waiter would say "Ja, auf der stelle. Gibt es noch etwas benotigen Sie."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ooooooh. Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wrote that wrong lol he would say Ja, kommenden bis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that means to come right away

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ooooh, well, I'm still learning :P And my German teacher doesn't really help me. So I kinda gotta figure it out on my own and most if the time I get it wrong. But, now I know. Thanks. So, then, what would be the entire conversation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even if you dont know those words, find the word "would like"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be Hallo, ich möchte eine Sahne, Zucker und einem Löffel Bitte! Right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry my computer spazzed out. yes that is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so now we wanna find where the waiter responds asking if he would like anything else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No worries ^_^ But at the beginning, it says that I have to order the specialty and some coffee and /then/ when the food comes I ask for everything else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh sorry i though the conversation started with the cream and sugar. ok .one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok back now. sorry server was down.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No worries ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waiter: Hallo, wie kann ich ihnen helfen you: Hallo, ich habe die sachertorte und eine Tasse Kaffee bitte? waiter:Natürlich möchten sie einige Rahm, auch? you:Hallo, ich möchte eine Sahne, Zucker und einem Löffel Bitte! go from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome. Thanks so much!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

youre so welcome!

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

"Ich möchte Sahne, Zucker und einen Löffel." or "Ich brauche noch Milch, Zucker und einen Löffel" Sahne, Zucker are uncountable verb is: mögen + accusative so "eineN Löffel" To pay the bill is : zahlen So you usually say : "Zahlen, bitte!"
