How is it possible to become a moderator? I mean, I guess you were all like me, neophytes, but how? Do i just keep answering questions and asking them, or do i just get associated with the website?
By not asking about it. @Farmdawgnation @Cshalvey
Well you asked. ;D I think you stay on the site awhile, get to know other users, don't get warnings or anything. Then, a Mod watches you for some time and they all decide whether you become a Mod or not.
True dat.
Amen chica. xD
thank you!
Medal...? :D
i gave you one
Thank youuuuuuuuu!!!
ahem I WANT A MEDAL ;) lol
Moderator selection is not my responsibility; however, here are my thoughts based on subjective personal experience. 1. Do not ask to be made a moderator. 2. Be a presence and a stabilizing influence on the site - do not do anything that might offend someone, open the door for anyone else to offend someone (as in bringing up a potentially sensitive subject or talking about someone behind their back), or otherwise precipitate a fight. And if someone else tries to bait you, don't rise to it. 3. If there is a problem, work with us to resolve it. Report abuse *with sufficient explanation*; message a mod with your concerns; if possible, do what you can to maintain a good tone in the group anyway. Get yourself a reputation for being helpful and mature in problem resolution - believe me, we really notice the people who help us. 4. Lead by example. The Code of Conduct is common sense written down - tutor not pop answers; care about helping the askers, and care especially when they are floundering; if a mod gives you a recommendation, follow it, etc. 5. Have a personality. Make yourself some friends. Mods are not rule machines (seriously) and we use the site for fun as much as you do. Myself, I occasionally sing in chat... 6. It is not as glamorous as it seems on the outside. Wait a minute, yes it is... :)
haha 6 was nice xD
