STOP AND HELP PLEASE! Which equation represents the line passing through the points (1, 4) and (-2, 13)? x - 3y = 7 3x - y = 7 x + 3y = 7 3x + y = 7
What is the slope of a line that passes through the point (-1, 1) and is parallel to a line that passes through (4, 6) and (-1, -4)? Help with this as well plz?
for the line to pass through the points(1,4) and (-2,13). that the equation has to verify x and y as solution that mean if you replace them in the equation it should work and regarding that only the last equation: 3x+y=7 is correct. because when you replace x=1 and y=4 it works and so for x=-2 and y=13
okay thanks can you do the other one?
sure hold on
thanks soooooooooooo much been working 3 hours on this study guide!
two line parallel means they have the same slope so you can use the two points to find the equation of the other line which is going to be y=2x-2 therefore the slope is 2 and its gonna be the same slope as the other line so your answer is: slope=2
thanks soo much!
you welcome
