You should use process of elimination. Proteins are made out of amino acids, not carbohydrates. Some - but not all - carbohydrates are made from sucrose molecules - and the question asks about *all carbohydrates*. And the term 'starchy monomer' is biologically vague - starch is a kind of carbohydrate made up of many individual sugar molecules, so it is not a monomer...
