What's the writer's life looks like? How many books need to read before becoming a writer? Just curious. :D

I would say that in order to be a good writer, one would have to be an avid reader, voracious even. As you read, you'll be able to discover various writing styles, sentence structure, the use of poetic license, different plot structures and character development. Vocabulary is also built with more reading. Ultimately, reading helps in every way, so read A LOT.
